My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that every human has the ability to be a musician. Music aptitude can be found in every person, but it is up to them as to whether or not they choose to explore it. In Henkjan Honing’s book “Musical Cognition”, he talks about the musical experiences of both an infant and an adult. Newborn babies babble the moment they are born, and older adults who can barely speak can still make beautiful music. At our beginnings and our ends, our innate musical abilities never leave us, even if we abandon them along the way.
